Devon: Description
North Devon is an ideal family holiday destination
with beautiful beaches and great surf. Surrounding
Croyde are 7 miles of sandy beaches including those
at:
Saunton
Saunton Beach is two miles or more long and starts
below the famous Sands Hotel. It goes right round
to Crow Point and back over the nature reserve to
Braunton. To get to the beach, travelling from Croyde,
just after Saunton Sands Hotel turn right off the
main road and down towards the dunes, park just
by the beach for £3-6 depending on the time
of year. There is a shop, hot and cold snack shop,
The Sands Cafe Bar (with raised balcony sea views),
a surf shop and toilets.

Woolacombe
Woolacombe Beach is more than two miles of golden
sand backed by sandy hills and the Woolacombe Downs.
The village of Woolacombe lies at the northern end
of the beach. Speed boats and jet skis are prohibited,
therefore offering superb facilities for swimming,
surfing, windsurfing, sailing and sea canoeing.
To get to the beach, take the A361 Ilfracombe road
from Barnstaple and turn left at Mullacott Cross
roundabout on to the B3343 for Woolacombe.
