Booking
Conditions
- ‘Applicants’ is the term used
for those clients wishing to hire a property,
and ‘Guest' is the name given to those
applicants who stay at the property. Any
contract is between the Owners of the property
on one part and the Applicants or Guest
on the other.
- Deposits - Bookings
can only be accepted on the official booking
form. A deposit of one third of the total
rental is required, calculated to the nearest
pound, should be sent with the booking form.
In the case of bookings made within 8 weeks
of the commencement of the holiday the full
amount should be sent with the booking form.
- Damage Deposit - A refundable
damage deposit of £100 is payable
for each booking. Damage deposits will be
refunded within one month of the end of
the stay providing there is no damage to
the property excluding normal wear and tear.
The cost of any damage or breakages will
be deducted from deposit. In the event of
damage exceeding £100 the Guest will
be fully liable for all costs incurred in
returning the property to its original condition,
including the Owners having to cancel bookings
where the property is rendered unrentable
for the period.
- Final Payment - Once
the booking form is received and accepted
by the owners, the applicants are liable
for payments of the balance of the rent,
8 weeks before the holiday commences. The
balance of the rental must be received by
us not later than 8 weeks before your holiday
commences. On receipt of the balance, full
details of key arrangements and directions
to the property will be sent. Please note
we do not send reminders.
- Cancellation -If the
Applicant cancels their booking, a refund
will only be given if the property can be
rented out to another Applicant.
- Extras - Optional charges
will be listed and charged as shown.
- Price Alterations -
The Owners reserve the right to adjust prices
quoted on the website, or on details to
properties due to errors or omissions or
change in V.A.T.
- Method of Payment -
Payments can be made by cheque, postal order
or cash, and made payable to "J &
D Scarlett". Any cash payments we recommend
to be sent by recorded delivery.
- Size and Party - The
number of persons stipulated for the house
must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
Only those listed on the booking form may
occupy the premises. We class infants as
being 2 years old or under. The person who
completes the booking form certifies that:
i) He or she is authorised to agree to the
booking conditions on behalf of all persons
on the booking form including any changes;
ii) The signatory must be over 18 years
of age and a member of the party occupying
the property; and
iii) Has agreed to take responsibility for
the occupying party.
- Eligibility - Bookings
cannot usually be accepted from all male
or all female parties, and where exceptions
are made the Owners reserve the right to
take an additonal £20 per person security
deposit.
- Guest Obligations
i) Guests agree to take reasonable care
of the property and ensure that the property
and all equipment is put back in its original
place, in good condition, for the benefit
of the next guests.
ii) Guests agree to pay for any losses or
damages to the property (beyond reasonable
wear and tear).
iii) To allow the Owners or their agents
reasonable access to the property during
their stay for maintenance and upkeep purposes.
iv) Guests agree not to exceed the total
number of persons in the property as stated
in the details and on the booking form,
or share the property, or part with possession
of the property.
- Should the property, for reasons beyond
the Owners control (e.g. Fire, Theft, Sale
etc) not be available on the date booked
or the property is not available for holiday
letting all rent and any charges paid in
full by the Applicant will be refunded in
full. The Applicants will have no further
claim against the Owner.
- Alterations to booking
- Alterations to dates will be entirely
at the Owner's discretion. Where changes
are made an administrative charge of £20
will apply.
- Complaints - All complaints
must be notified to the Owner immediately
so that they can investigate the circumstances,
and take any necessary action. In no circumstances
can compensation be made for any complaints
that are made after the rental has ended,
or where the Guest has denied the Owners
the opportunity to try to put matters right
during the Guest's stay.
- Damage - Occasionally
accidents do happen and any losses must
be paid for. Properties are checked and
cleaned before arrival but if you have any
difficulties please contact your Housekeeper,
whose details will be in the property. Should
you find on arrival any damage or non-working
items it is important to notify the Housekeeper
immediately so that matters can be rectified.
- Items Left Behind - We
cannot accept responsibility for any items
left behind in your accommodation or the
grounds after your holiday, and would advise
you to contact us immediately once you know
of any items left behind. Our housekeeper
has been asked to advise of any items left
behind and will remove such items from the
property before the next guests arrive.
Any unclaimed items will be disposed of
after two weeks.
- These conditions supersede all previous
issues.
